About:
Destination Moon is the fourth album by canadian R&B singer Deborah Cox. A tribute album to jazz singer Dinah Washington, Cox noted it “a concept album that I’ve had in mind for years”. Many of Washington’s songs are reinterpreted on the album including the title track “Destination Moon”. Review:
After making a name for herself as a contemporary R&B singer, vocalist Deborah Cox decided she wanted to show the world another side of herself. Destination Moon, a tribute to Dinah Washington, is the result. So, can a pop singer and “dance-floor icon” also be a credible jazz singer? Just listen. Not only is she credible; she’s great. (From Destination Moon.)
